At Rez Church, we believe baptism is a beautiful picture of what Jesus has already done in your life. Going under the water represents dying to your old life of sin. Coming up out of the water represents being raised to new life in Christ. It's your way of telling the world: "I'm a follower of Jesus, and my life is forever changed."
What Baptism Means
It's About Your New Identity When you follow Jesus, everything changes. You're no longer defined by your past, your mistakes, or what others think of you. You're God's treasured possession, bought with the precious blood of Jesus. Baptism is your opportunity to celebrate this new identity publicly.
It's About Obedience Jesus himself was baptized, and he commanded his followers to be baptized too. It's not about earning salvation—that's a free gift from God. It's about obediently following Jesus's example and command.
It's About Community Baptism welcomes you into the family of believers. It's your way of saying, "I want to be part of this community of people who are learning to love God and love others like Jesus did."
