Child Dedication
A Covenant to Raise Kids Who Know Jesus
Your kids didn't come with an instruction manual. But God's Word gives you everything you need to point them to Jesus.
Child dedication is your opportunity to publicly commit to stewarding the gift God's given you—and to invite your church family to walk alongside you in that journey.
What Child Dedication Actually Is
This isn't baptism. We're not assuring your child's salvation or making them a church member.
Child dedication involves three commitments:
You commit to stewarding your children as gifts from God
Teaching them about Jesus Christ isn't optional—it's your primary job as a parent.
You commit to leading by example
Your kids will learn what following Jesus looks like by watching you wake up daily and pursue Him. They'll see you submit to the Holy Spirit, repent when you sin, ask for and grant forgiveness.
We commit to supporting you
You're not raising your kids in the faith alone. We're promising to encourage you, pray for you, and build you up in Christ through our words and actions.
Why This Matters
"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." — Psalm 127:3
Parents are the primary disciplers of their children. Child dedication is the moment when you stand before God and your church community and say, "I'm taking responsibility for pointing my child to Jesus."
And the church stands with you and says, "We're in this with you. We'll model Christ alongside you. We won't be a hindrance to your child's faith."
This embodies the same Community we pursue throughout REZ Church—believers coming alongside one another in authentic relationships. You're raising your kids in a church body that represents diverse ages, cultures, and perspectives, all genuinely loving each other in ways that point to Christ's power.
What Happens During Dedication
We keep it simple and meaningful. During Child Dedication we:
Introduce your family to the congregation
Ask you specific questions about your commitment
Ask the church to commit to supporting you
Pray over your family
Present a gift to your child from REZ Church
Family and friends are welcome to join you on stage during prayer.

Common Questions
Is this baptism?
No. Baptism is a personal decision made by someone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Child dedication is about parents making commitments to God and the church.
Do I have to be a member?
We ask that you're regularly attending REZ Church and engaged in our community. Child dedication involves the church walking alongside you, so being connected here matters.
What age should my child be?
There's no requirement. Most families dedicate infants or toddlers, but we're happy to work with you regardless of your child's age.
Can we dedicate multiple children at once?
Absolutely. Many families dedicate multiple children during the same service.
You're not doing this alone.
Raising kids who know Jesus is hard. We're honored to walk this journey with you.
